A celebration was held at the home of Tom and Ann Pleasance at Tyrone on February February 29th in,honor of Carman and Bertha White. Those attending were Mrs. Alma White, Orono, Donald and Cathy Wtyite, Toronto, Mrs. Victoria Pleasance, Alliston, Valerie White, John Coatham, Brick - block laying courses at Durham Durham College's Adult Training Division, in co-operation co-operation with Canada Manpower, is running courses for bricklayers bricklayers and blocklayers. These course are being mounted because of the amount' of construction in Oshawa and District, and an anticipated shortage of manpower in these trades. The Durham Adult Training Division will have 20 students for both bricklayers and blocklayers and the intensive courses will run for six weeks. The instruction will be given at 96 Russet Avenue in Units 9 and 10. The courses began February 23 and run Monday' through Friday for 30 hours per week. There will be two weeks of in-college training and four weeks of on the job learning. Roly Champeau of Canada Manpower reports excellent co-operation training for ten of the best trainees on the course.
