Wayne MacLean then pushed Orono's count up to three followed by the fourth goal off the stick of Bob Myles with assist to Warren Nichols. Paul Reed then returned with his third goal with assists to Wayne MacLean and Al Webster. Warren Nichols, Wayne MacLean, Ross Stutt and Duane Major completed the scoring. Further assists went Duane Major, Preston Long, Jim Moffatt, Bob Myles and Tom Bollinger. BANTAM EAGLES DOWN FALCONS The Orono Eagles took a 4-2 win over the Falcons at the Orono Arena. Gary Ciapdorp lead the Eagles with two goals. Allen MacCarthy and Danny Webster completed the Eagle cause. Jeff Nicholls and Scott West scored the two Falcon counters. NEWCASTLE TOWN LEAGUE HOCKEY REPORT BY HAD SPENCERS AND QUEENS TIE Spencers Real Estate and Queens Hotel battled to a 5-j tie in their next to last game before play-offs at the Newcastle Ice Palace Sunday night. Spencers were leading 5-3 with goals scored by bob Tugwood, a pair, and Mike White, a hat trick, then they lost their pants as Queens R. Morrow and B. Allread each scored singles to tie the score 5-5 with only 27 seconds left to play. Queens earlier marksmen were Brian Rowe a pair, and B. McKay a single. Each team picked up one point, a win next week could give them a play-off spot. REGIONALS DUMP COWAN VILLE Regional Reclaimers moved within one point of first place Sunday night as they dumped Cowanville Auto Parts 5-2. The Reclaimers who are noted for having the best defence in the league, held the Wreckers off the score board until late in the third period, when John Witheridge atid C. Mason each beat goalie Don Todd. Regional marksmen were D. Norton, a pair, with singles to W. Alder, W. Pierce and T. Stark. The win leaves the Reclaimers a guaranteed play-off spot. It must have been a nightmare for goalie George Van Dam who was tied for the league's best goal tender of the year, as the Pipebenders popped six goals behind him. Elmhurst were leading 5-1 going into the last period with goals scored by Gary Van Dam, R. Rickard, R. Wooley, Tim Walton and Ron Slack. It looked as though they were leaving the third period up to goalie George Van Dam to play all by himself, as the Pipebenders twisted their way through the forewards and defence of Elmhurst to score 5 goals. Sports calvalcade BRUNELLE ANNOUNCES FIRST ONTARIO SPORTS TRAVELCADE Minister of Community and Social Services, Rene Brun- elle, has announced Ontario's first Sports Travelcade program. program. Addressing the Village of Alvinston at a fund, raising dinner for a sports complex last night, he said the program program to be launched early next spring will offer coaches, trainers, officials and athletes a chance to obtain first hand expert information and advice advice about any sport. Under the Ministry's Sports and Recreation Bureau, the program will enable community community sports leaders to increase their skills in coaching, training, training, management and administration. administration. "Next year, a small community community which normally could not on its own bring such expertise into the area will have the opportunity to be as fully informed on any area of sport as possible," Mr. Brun- elle said. "This program is just one example of the importance your government places on sports in our culture." Mr. Burnelle was speaking at a $15 per plate dinner to raise funds for a sports complex to mark Alvinston's 100 years as a village in 1980.
