Sunnyvale Trailer Park Atom AAA Toros have bounced back after dropping the season opener. The Toros lost the opening game of the ETA season in Markham to the Waxcrs in a close 2-1 game on a late goal by Ryan Taylor assisted by Mitch Burghardt and Liam Rowe. Mike Bergman Bergman was stellar in goal slopping 30 of the 32 shots directed at him. The boys then played the Peterborough Petes in the home opener, dominating the game from start to finish and outshoot- ing Peterborough 42-16, coming away with a 4-0 victory. JJ Leigh started off the scoring in the first with a nice pass from Cody Kean. Ryan Taylor scored . with assists going to Kean and Liam Rowe. Leigh scored his second goal of the game with,a beautiful pass from No luck in shootout losses for Generals It's questionable whether Michael Del Zotto scored his first Ontario Hockey League goal Sunday. It's certain it won't be his last. Although his defensive partner, captain captain Eric Regan, insists Del Zotto had already broken the ice by scoring in Sudbury Sudbury the previous weekend, the impressive rookie's first official goal was credited Sunday, Sunday, when he banked a pinpoint shot in off the post on a power play. Afterward, with the puck safely tucked away in his suit jacket, Del Zotto rued the fact the goal didn't prevent a 5-4 shootout loss for his Oshawa Generals against the Ottawa 67's. Indeed, despite a team worst minus- 14, Del Zotto seems to be adapting better to the OHL level with every passing game. He was named the game's third star during Friday's 7-6 shootout loss to Erie. Sandwiched between the shootout . losses was an 8-2 setback in Kitchener on Saturday. After a Saturday game in Belleville, the Generals will play for the final time at the Civic Auditorium Sunday at 6:05 p.m. against the Kingston Frontenacs. Rowe and Cooke. Mitch Burghardt and Brodie Munro assisted on a Zach Cole goal in the third period. Mike Bergman was great again in net, making 16 saves for the shutout. Richmond Hill was the next team to visit the unfriendly confines of Rickard arena, coming out on the losing end of a 4-1 score. The Toros again outshot their opponents 37-9. Mitch Burghardt scored a beauty unassisted while the Toros were shorthanded in the first. Liam Rowe's unassisted marker made the score 2-0 as the Toros started to roll. Milch Burghardt and Liam Osbourne assisted on Zach Cole's goal and Mack Morissette round ed off (he scoring with helpers going to Mitch Burghardt and Liam Osbourne. Once again the Toros received excellent goaltending from Mark Robb stopping all but one shot directed at him. The boys have produced an excellent team effort and have a 7-1 record so far this year.
