Sylvia was the Executive Executive Director ol Personal Attendant Care Inc. formerly known as Durham Region Region Attendant Care Inc. Her husband Richard whom she married in 1972, daughter Tamara Langford and her husband Jason, and Alison Spice survive her, A devoted grandmother to Nathan Langford. Sister of Peler (Margaret), Juris Juris (Doris) and Irene (Barry). Aun! of Cara, Kerene, Katelyn, Christine, Natalie, Sarah and Peler. Sylvia was born on January 10, 1947 in Germany and her family background is Latvian (she became a Canadian citizen years later). Sylvia Sylvia grew up in Cabbage Town and as a teen moved to Scarborough and her life was a series of adventures, hard work, and commitment to family, responsibility and Iriends, Sylvia followed her mother's example and began her lifelong career as a caregiver in 1967 when she graduated as a Nursing Assistant and worked in Leisure World Nursing Home and Centenary Hospital. Sylvia returned to school, graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1972, and worked at Sick Kid's Hospital for 10 years, three of those years, in the capacity of Head Nurse, During During her, time at Sick Kids, she started lier cjuest for homecare, by collaborating in the successful integration of a hospitalized client, who required very high complex care to live at home. Between 1985 and 1989 with her unending Ihirst for knowledge and learning, Sylvia successfully achieved her Bachelor of Arts and her Masters of Arts, Sylvia also worked as a Head Nurse al Toronto General General Hospital, Whitby General Hospital and was Vico President of Patient Caro Services at Memorial Hospital In Bowmanville.,In 1994, she started as Executive Executive Director ol Personal Attendant Caro Inc,, a non-profit service provider lo the physically challenged rosldonls ol Durham Region.
