In the round robin the Toros beat Richmond Hill 7.4, Pickering 5-1, and Markham 1-0. The trend continued in the semifinals against Ajax, àdvancing with a 3-0 victory. In a rematch with Richmond Hill, the Toros again posted a Shutout, this time 2-0. All of the team members worked hard, including Scott Hibbert, Hunter $lerritt, Mackenzie Schreurs, Austin Laniel, Braden Gray, Bradley Houghton, Garrett Hill, jjake Garneau, Nathan Verbeek, Matthew Cholod, Tomas Azzano, Nicholas Reed, Carter JKolarek, Ross Stenhouse, Jacob Caughell and goalies Robert Hanthorn and Cameron Zanus- |i. The team, coached by Gerry iPearson; Gary Hope, Doug [Picket!, Steve Junkin and Ralph [Murphy, came into the tourna- [ment sporting an 18-0-1 record in league play and three tournament tournament wins. However, they [suffered' their first defeat of the year in the first game of the tournament, losing 3-2 to East Gwillimbury. Undaunted, the boys came back to beat Stouffville 5-1, while East Gwillimbury lost their next two games. ' That set up a showdown with the Sarnia Sting for first place in the division and the right to advance to the semifinals. The Toros won a squeaker by a 2-, 1 score over a very quick and disciplined Sarnia team. Toros' goaltender Scott Junkin stood tall in this game, giving his team a chance to win. The Toros then rolled over Belleville 4-0 in the semifinal semifinal game, with Chris Seiler recording the shutout. This was followed by a tournament clinching victory over the Burlington Burlington Eagles and a ticket to the International Finals on January 13-16 in Newmarket.
