For Bowmanvillc Non Contact, Ryan Lawric and Ty Owen each made some outstanding outstanding saves for the win, while Daniel Leduc, Justin Andrews, Andrews, Kaync Ritchie and Michael Walsh provided solid defensive efforts. In forward positions, Brendan Fades, Travis Andrews and Isaac Shirley all played strong. Atom AE Toros champs CLARINGTON - The Clarington atom AE Toros finished the season on a high note, winning the OMHA championship 3-1 over Belleville with a convincing 7-1 victory m Game 4 of the series. The Toros reached the finals after eliminating Aurora and then Owen Sound in the semifinals. Among the other highlights this season was winning a tournament in Tweed in convincing fashion, outscoring the °PP° s, f ,() " 28-3 ? ver " iree games. Art and Technique Toros bow out to Whitby HOME m I y" jp r CLARINGTON - The Clarington Clarington Art and Technique minor peewee AAA Toros ended the regular season with a tie against their nearby rivals, the Whitby Wildcats, which was a foreshadow of the close series the two teams would play in the first round of the OMHA playoffs. Even, though the Whitby team was coming off two impressive impressive OMHA championships, championships, the Toros came out skating and gave Whitby a scare by going into their rink and tying the first game of the playoffs.. The teams then exchanged exchanged hard-fought wins and the series was tied at three points each. -■Howevery the Toros .dropped the last two'games of the'series, ; 5-1 in a chippy and penalty- filled contest at home, and 3-2 ih Whitby. In the first, the Toros took the lead but Whitby tied it in the dying minutes of the third . period. Neither team scored in a 10-minute overtime period. L ! In the second game at home, the Toros were down 1-0 in the first and 2-1 in the second. The game was very close, but Whitby Whitby added another goal late in the third to make the final score -3-1. The third game saw the Toros leading the entire game, and beating Whitby 3-2, a Penalties took their toll on the Toros in the fourth game, with eight minor penalties and a bench major resulting in a 5-1 loss. In the final do-or-die game, the Toros found themselves down 1-0 after the first and 2-1 after the second period. Each team scored in the third for a 3- 2 final. Keeping the opposition shooters at bay were goal- tenders Nolan Roeloffzen and Jason Murray, along with skaters David Morrison, Rory Craddock, Nathan Zavitz, Luke Ryan, Stefan Diachenko, Cameron Hoy and Zach Glaspell. Getting points during the series series were Daniel Lintner (4-1), Chad Tutton (2-2), Mitchell Heard (1-3), Christopher Moore (2-2), Zak Graham (1- 2), Jordan Bailey (0-2), Rory McDowell (0-1), Blair Beckett (0-1) and Dillon Corcoran (0- 1). The Toros dropped to the ETA playoffs to face Ajax/Pickering, while Whitby continued in the OMHA play- downs.
