As a single working mother, Ms. Williams says ensuring there is ample, affordable child care available is something she would work toward if elected. "I personally am at an income rate where I don't qualify (for any sort of subsidized day care), but day care is one of my huge expenses," notes Ms. Williams. Advocating for Ontario Works recipients recipients to help them further their education education and integrate themselves into the community, is also important, she says. Life experiences led her to take a stab at politics, says Ms. Williams. "I really wanted to make it easier for people," she says. "I need to effect change and, for me, this is a way of doing it."
