Playing three games in three nights, the Green Gaels produced a pair of wins, both on the road, to improve to 5-3 in Ontario Lacrosse Association Association Jr. B league play. , "We really played well as a team," said general manager Doug Lucy of the three games. "We're still making some mental mistakes... but that's the youth on our team." The Green Gaels began the three-game stretch with an 8- 6 loss to Six Nations last Thursday night at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex. Complex. It was a game that Lucy described as "disappointing. We should have beat them." Eric Howe scored twice for the Green Gaels with one each to Chris Bade, Dave Werry, Casey Logeman and Ryan McMichael. Tom Watt had three assists with two for Phil Greenen. On Friday night, the Green Gaels handed Wallaceburg its first loss of. the season when Ryan Preston scored the winner winner with 1:32 left in the game in a 10-9 win. Greenen, Logeman and Howe scored two goals each with one apiece to James Barton, Barton, Scott Theis and Tyler Harris. Specialty teams played a big role in the game as the Green Gaels scored three times on the power play, but allowed three shorthanded goals. The following night in Sarnia, Sarnia, Howe scored three times and Logeman added a pair in a 7-6 victory. Jim Mumford and Barton scored the other goals while Harris added three assists. Welland will visit the Recreation Complex on Thursday night at 8 p.m. in the next game for the Green Gaels. THE SCOOP - Friday's game in Wallaceburg was a homecoming for coach Brad MacArthur. He played lacrosse in that city, following in the footsteps of his grandfather grandfather and father...A total of 10 players (five from each team) were ejected from the Wallaceburg game after a series series of fights broke out during the same stoppage of play late in the second period...The game in Sarnia was also a rough affair, with over 90 minutes in , penalties called...The home game that was cancelled against Barrie when the referees failed to show up on May 17 has tentatively tentatively been re-scheduled for June 21.
