The ensemble, called Sound Waves, entertained shoppers with a mix of jazz favourites and Christmas carols. The jazz ensemble and the concert band also held a concert at Knox Christian School on Thursday, December 17. Sympathy is extended to Kathy and Peter Hill and their son Danny on the passing of Kathy's mother Mrs. Mary Tvvohy of Mealord on Christmas Day which is Kathy's birthday. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 29, in Meaford. Our thoughts are with you all in this time. Lorna Wright and her husband, Pras Sumantri of Kingston, were Christmas Day guests of her parents Walter and Audrey Wright. A capacity congregation congregation attended the annual Christmas Eve service at the Blackstock United Church on December 24.- The service featured beautiful beautiful music provided by the senior choir including a solo by Janice Barber, much congregational singing of Christmas carols carols and a very timely message message by Reverend David Shearman. All fair goers who have enjoyed the antics of Puffy the Clown were saddened to hear of his untimely death in a traffic accident last Monday near Sainlficld. Music is of course, a special special feature of the Christmas Eve Eucharist and this year was no exception as the Choir sang John Rutter's Angel Carol and led the congregation congregation in the traditional Christmas Hymns and carols, carols, with soaring soprano descants to almost all the Hymns. On Sunday, December 27, tbc Third Day of Christmas, there was another good turnout for the annual Service of Lessons and Carols. There were two Christmas Eve services. One at Hampton at 7:30 p.m. and one at Eldad at 10:30 p.m. with good attendance at both. At Eldad on Sunday, Harry and Loraine Knox were the greeters and Loraine Bennett the lay reader. The junior choir sang "Sing Hallelujah" and the senior choir number number was "Jazz Gloria". Reverend Munro's story to the children was about "Gifts" and to the adults a Dialogue Sermon on "How God's Love was With You in 1998". Several in attendance expressed their thoughts on the topic. The Hinchey family placed the Wise Men in the crèche. The two choirs joined in closing closing an interesting service by singing an arrangement of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". Solina was busy with Christmas family gatherings gatherings over the holidays. A few of them at the Fred Watsons were Carrisa Trevor, Carol and Barb. Betty Grant had daughter daughter Joan, her husband and children for a few days and all gathered at Fraser's on Monday. Cameron's wife Rosie from Australia will be visiting visiting for awhile soon. The Hill's daughters and their families gathered at Wes and Doris'. Wes and Doris visited Howard and family during the holiday. The Morawetz family had lunch in Peterborough and supper at Eileen Knox's with the rest of Marilyn's family. Elaine Baker had Christmas lunch in Peterborough and 25 of her family were at her home for supper. The Harry Knox family gathered at Dean's home on Monday. Bob and Joan Blackburn had his family for Christmas and Joan's family were at Doreen Westlake's on Sunday. With the Bruce Taylor's were Annette, Collette and Barb Clarke, Walter and Linda will be visiting on Tuesday. The Johnstons had Brian, David and family on Sunday. Barry and Evelyn Brovves and their family spent Christmas at Evelyn's sister Jean's in Oshawa. With the Hinchey family family was Laura's mother and grandmother. Neil Simpson's mother Inez spent a few days with them prior to Christmas and they travelled to Suzanne's parents in Scarborough Christmas Day. Murray Vice attended the Vice family gathering at Kathy's the Sunday before Christmas and Christmas Day in Omemee with the Bcath family. The Garbes were at Joan's brothers. The Brays visited at Greg's, Wendy's and Gerald's over the holiday holiday time. The Crydermans were at Larry and Menons. Dorothy Snowden had all her family home on the 25th as did Mary Millson on the 26th. With the Don Taylors were Will, Carol and family family and Aunt Corsina. Doris Flctl was at Marie and Donald Kellett's for lunch and Betty and Jim Patterson's for supper on Christmas Day. Lois and Murray Flett held a gathering gathering on Sunday. The Wotten families spent Christmas at Arnot Sr. and Helen's. The Yellowlees family spent the day on the 25th at Ron and Brenda Metcalf's. Added guests were Jean Dair and Michaela from Denmark.
