On Monday, October 19 Gord Paisley and other family members attended the autumn convocation at the University of Guelph when Cord's niece, Judy Paisley, of Oakville was a recipient of the Doctor of Philosophy degree. Judy has accepted a position with Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto where she is currently lecturing lecturing and conducting research in the field of nutrition. At the United Church guest preacher was Verna Windrem a former student and now of the Warsaw pastoral charge. Reverend David Shearman was speaker at that charge. Verna's topic for her excellent excellent message was "Sowing Seeds of Kindness". Music was provided by the Junior Choir. Next Sunday will be the Anniversary Service with guest speaker, another former former student, Reverend Richard Choc. Jean Churchill chose a Thanksgiving theme for worship. A report was given on the speaker at the Presbytcrial at Enniskillen. Reminders of several upcoming events were made. On Remembrance Day, November 11, after the service, the two units of UCW will meet at the church for lunch. The High School Graduation dinner is being planned for November 13th. Dora had the program and used the book "Simple Abundance" for a brief study on how to live life filled with gratitude, harmony harmony and joy. After two sympathy cards were signed by all, the meeting closed with benediction. Dora Martyn, Reporter Community Comer Stones By mid-November the Courticc Community Centre will have a new display set up to the right of the main entrance. It will be called Community Corner Slones and it is a fund-raising idea of the Build Courticc Fundraising Campaign. To date, they have sold 232 engraved granite bricks. The funds raised through the sale of these bricks were part of the community's contribution to their Community Centre. .Bricks arc still available at a cost of $300. The steel frame for the display has been donated by Darlington Steel. Pat McLellan has generously donated the concrete backer board to receive the bricks.
