Horticulture Fall Show The show was held Thursday, October 8 in main hall of Orono United Church, with a smaller than usual attendance. President Carol Mostcrt welcomed all and read a delightful story on the "Lowly Potato," a vegetable vegetable full of vitamins! Lorna Atkins, secretary, read the minutes and read out all correspondence. Some members attended the beautiful Dalhia and Mum Show in Toronto recently and reported a great show. Flo Sharpe, treasurer, gave an excellent financial report and reminded us of upcoming photograph competition, November 16. Our program was a tape from Jerry Baker, an American Master Gardener. She gave us many hints on the wise use of home remedies, in all our homes. Such as epsom salts, dish detergents, etc. All gardens need special diets, plus T.L.C. and of course, good weather. " Our fall flower show was, as always, colorful and it had 101 entries and 14 exhibitors.
