BARBERSHOPPERS SING IN BOWMANVILLE - The Horseless Carriagemen will be singing Christmas favorites in area shopping malls on December 17th. Traditional carols and numbers by quartets will be performed at the Bowmanville Mall from 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 17th. This group, although based in Oshawa, includes residents from across the Durham Region, with many of the singers hailing from Clarington. The Horseless Carriagemen are members of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America Inc., an organization which has about 40,000 members. The group supports speech therapy for children and adults. GOSPEL SING - The Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship will present a Christmas Gospel Sing this Saturday evening at the Bowmanville High School. The performance begins at 7 p.m., with all seats free. Everyone is welcome. Performers include The Switzer Brothers and Midnight Cry. A freewill offering will be taken and proceeds will be donated to Right to Life and People Against Pornography. BETHANY OUTDOOR THEATRE PRESENTS... -- The Live Christmas Story will be enacted by the Bethany Outdoor Theatre on December 17th and December 18th. This includes a live nativity scene, including live animals, hot apple cider, old-fashioned carol singing and a picturesque outdoor setting. SANTA ARRIVES AT CANADIAN TIRE - The Jolly Old Elf himself will be appearing at the Bowmanville Canadian Tire Store on Friday nights from six p.m. to eight p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. He'll be on duty there for the next three weeks.
