Sunrise Service Early Sunday morning, Orono's very first "sunrise" service was held, despite a dreadful snowstorm, and without the sun, the beautiful "Lang Memorial Chapel" was filled with church members. Reverend Russell and Mr. Gordon Leek from St. Saviour's were in charge of the beautiful service. There Three new directors were elected to the board of the Durham Farmers' County Co-operative at the Annual Meeting held in Orono Tuesday night. Bill DeVries, Peter Greydanus and Bob Allin replace retiring retiring directors Lome Allin, Jim Coombes and Bill Tomlinson. The county co-op was started in 1945 to provide feed and supplies to farmers at competitive prices. Since then, it has grown into a multi-million dollar business. was delightful music by brass trio comprised of Roy Forrester, Dick Morton and Paul Mote, for the singing singing of hymns. Following the service, coffee and hot cross buns, were served by a committee of Marjorie Best and Dorothy Dorothy Barnett. A special note of this service, the little birds, robins etc., were "singing up" a storm, while we walked up to chapel! Quite an experience experience during a snowstorm. Town Hall Card Party Scores An overflow crowd was in attendance attendance at weekly euchre party, with 19 tables in progress, held March 29 and following results. High scores- Carl Todd 85, Eva Smith 84, Gladys Ogden 83, Dorothy Branch 78, Sharon Casey 77.
