Through a strong team effort, Union Oil won all four of their games and came away with the 'A' Championship. The first game against Sports Shop ended in a 4-2 score, with two goals from Matt Allen, and singles by Justin Roussy and David Brown. Erik Downing and David Brown also had assists. The next two games were won with scores of 6-2 against Braggs, and 6-0 against National Trust. The team played exceptionally well and the 12 goals accumulated in these two games were earned by Justin Roussy and Jesse Millson with one each, Matt Allen with five, , „ ,, , and David Brown with seven. Union Oil held on to win the game with a score of 4-3. The team's top scorers were supported by Tyler Calhoun, Steven Sendall, Joshua Shephard, Jesse Millson, Riley Riley Elliot and Brian Wilson on the wings. The strong defensive play from Ryan Lubitz, B.J. Brown, Sarah Sarah Connelly, Jeremy Hynes and Erik Downing was also a decisive factor in the team's performance, along with superb goaltending from Bryan Hutchinson. The team is now starting playoffs, and ended the regular season season with a record of 18 wins and two losses, along with four tournament tournament championships to their credit. All of the players have worked hard to make it a successful season - a job well done. The Bowmanville Toro Peewee additional team reached the semifinals semifinals last weekend with a 3-2 win over Richmond Hill to take a 4-1 point victory. After beating out Aurora in a long six game series in the York- Simcoe playoffs, Bowmanville came up against Richmond Hill. Newmarket came back with a power play goal, but Willy Thorton answered with his second goal of the night, assisted by Clayton Kohn.
