Officers observed that both the numbers of hunters and deer harvested were down slightly from previous years, mainly due to the weather. Strong winds and periodic rain were present for 50% of the hunt which not only caused deer to stay put, but also limited limited hunters time in the field. Hunters overwhelmingly felt the hunt was a success whether or not they were able to harvest an animal. The outdoor experience and the break it provides from every day stresses continues to be an important factor. The hunt ran smoothly with few trespass complaints. Twenty-nine charges were laid mainly for license and firearm violations. However, violations violations were infrequent and this year's hunters are to be commended for their cooperation and sportsmanship. sportsmanship. minutes of the last meeting and took the roll call.
