The March Break just went too fast for us Cougars! That means that we're back at work - academically and athletically. Our athletes are hard at work preparing for upcoming tournaments tournaments whether they are team sports like volleyball or individual sports like badminton. Last year, our Co-ed volleyball team competed in tournaments for, the first time. Unfortunately, the re sults were disappointing. We ended the season at 1-14, in matches played with our only victory coming against a hapless G.L. Roberts team. This year will be different. Members of the team include returning returning power hitter Amechi Smith who specializes in his aggressive defense. defense. Todd Skelton and Jeff Hea- therington are our middle blockers who form the ever popular "Wall" in the front row. Setter Jaime Turkocio is the starting setter for both the Coed Coed team as well as her club team, the Juvenile Genesis Girls Volleyball Club. Marlon Wurmitzer, a member of the Junior Boys Ganaraska Wolves, is starting offside hitter. Other Other members include Sarah Wills, Kim Goodyear, Justin Lievens, Jessica Reynolds Reynolds and Heidi Leach.. This is a power-packed team which plays its first tournament on Thursday, March 25 at Kingsway College starting at 9:00 a.m. Let's go for gold! Our badminton team is currently in the process of forming one of its best teams in years. Mr. Bruce Rutherford, Rutherford, the coach of this year's team, feels that with hard work and determination, determination, his team could form two or three LOSS A champions. Members of the team have not been picked yet because of the stiff competition, but it will prove to be an exciting team.
