Richards , up and away wei s year's contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Foundation Campaign in the Town of Newcastle. Irwin Hamilton, a spokesman spokesman for the local fundraising fundraising effort, said the campaign campaign was an "overwhelming success" and the volunteers "covered practically every house in Bowmanville." Local area canvassers were able to leap over the target of $15,000 by adding another $1,615 to the pot. Mr. Hamilton said he is pleased with the effort put out by the volunteers. Bowmanville High School students were recognized for donating a "large contribution contribution of their own funds" towards towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation, said Mr. Hamilton. Hamilton. Enthusiastic students at B.H.S. donated $1,200 towards' towards' the foundation just because "it's a good cause," he said. "At their age they have no need to worry about heart attacks or strokes," Mr. Hamilton added. She received her plaque from Mayor Marie Hubbard at Monday night's council meeting. 4H Members Field Crops Club Holds May Meeting by Dianne Bowman The second Field Crops meeting was held on Monday Monday May 13 at Dave Tam- blyn's. The club picked our 1 Team, Tanya Allin, ~rins, Dianne Bowman. Bowman. The Exhibit Team was picked and the members are Jay Camoclan, and Richard Green. We then judged a class of second cut hay. Mr. Bowman showed us seed germination of corn. It was a hundred percent germination germination from last year's corn.
