St. George's Anglican Church Women quilters entered entered one of their products in the Traditional Design by a Group class at the Canadian Canadian National Exhibition and were awarded a third prize. Mrs. Marilyn Martin took second place in the Open Class Appliqued Quilt section, section, Mrs. Christena Selby received two third prizes in the Afghan Counted Cross stitch entry and in the 2 piece business suit. We extend extend our congratulations to these ladies and will look forward to seeing these articles articles at the Canadian Nation- al Exhibition. ■We look forward to seeing Mr. Doug Lycett's day lilies from 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28. An invitation has been extended to all interested interested and we thank Doug. • Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crago visited last Monday evening at the home of Paul and Lynda Crago, R.R. Bowmanville. Bowmanville. Paul and Lynda are the proud parents of son Trevor Burgess Crago. Sympathy is extended to relatives and friends of Mrs. . Noreen Martin who passed away last Tuesday, July 17. • Miss Stephanie Hodsoll, Whitby, has been staying with her grandmother, Mrs. Lena Graham and has been greatly enjoying attending the Visual Arts Centre Camp at Bowmanville. The Orono and District Piddle Club met at'the Newcastle Newcastle Community Hall on Wednesday, July 18. Jim Yates is the husband husband of Miss Ross of Can- nington who taught at Lockharts Lockharts School when Jack Crago was custodian there. Mrs. Yates now teaches at Plainville. They picked up son Glenn in Port Hope where he attended hockey school for two weeks.
