SEEK INPUT ON RECREATION PLAN - The Town of Newcastle is in the process of creating a Recreation/Leisure Recreation/Leisure master plan to guide recreational programs programs in the future. The consultant is seeking input from the public as part of the planning process. If you would like to participate, please get involved through any interest group to which you belong. You are also invited to respond to the telephone survey if you are contacted in the next few weeks. Or you can pick up a copy of the survey from your local library, museum, Newcastle Fitness Centre or the Town of Newcastle Community Services Department. On Tuesday, June 19th the Children's Toy Library held its annual picnic at Memorial Memorial Park. But this year's event was special because we are celebrating our 10th anniversary in 1990. The Children's Toy Library Library was started in 1980 by a group of enthusiastic parents, parents, with support from the Social Planning Council. Second Loss for Darlington Eagles On Wednesday, June 20. Darlington Eagles suffered their second loss in league play 4-2 over Ajax. The Eagles had many scoring chances with Chris Pot sending a 20 yard free- kick and an eight yard shot over the net, and a penalty shot that hit the crossbar. Darryl Wright and Nicky Zdravkovski missed a couple of glorious chances. Niki Defreitas Defreitas also hit the cross bar from 24 yards out from a --free kick.
