Four years ago we entered entered into another step of life, high school. Our situation situation was different from most high schools, we had doubts, fears and joys. Our minds were filled with questions and few answers. Some questions we had were, can we make St. Stephen's work, what problems would we Have to overcome? Many of the students were worried that we wouldn't have our own school, that we would have to continue to share St. Stephen's with the elementary elementary students. Now, 5 years later things have changed. Now we're deciding whether to continue our educations by attending college or university. university. Others are now entering entering into the work force. When the students first came to St. Stephen's we were beginning something very special and that was the beginning of St. Stephen's Stephen's High School. We are the foundation of it, along with our faith, love, trust and guidance from God and all the teachers and school board members we suceed- ed, we are St. Stephen's. Every individual here made our success possible and without you it wouldn't have happened. During our four years we have faced numerous obsta- cals and joys, through our unity we made the best of each day. We've opened our hearts each year to both new teachers and students. We've also said good bye to teachers and students, some good byes harder then others. others. Mr. and Mrs. Ball's departure departure from our school for example was both a sad and joyous occasion. Malconia has been the scene of the usual chaos associated with the wedding preparations for the past several weeks. The female contingents of our family have been running helter-skelter, hither ana yon, in the hot pursuit of a variety of articles - mostly nameless. The drone of the Malconia hive has pursued his normal activity - that of "Gopher Boy". As one perceptive perceptive chop commented to me when we retired from forming that I had now joined the "Honey Dew Club" - "Honey do this, Honey Honey do that" It's funny how many errands three dedicated dedicated females can dream up to keep one helpless male on the run. The success of any venture venture is usually the result of careful planning and execution execution of those plans to the final final detail. In the final analysis analysis every thing worked like clockwork - with the exception exception of the weather. Mother Nature, that whimsical Old Maid, sure threw us a curve- ball in that regard. After promising us a bright sunny Saturday, what does she do - half an hour before the ceremony ceremony is due to begin, she turns on the tap full-flow with lots of audual and lighting effects thrown in (thunder and lightening that is). Although our apparel may have been soaked, the spirit of the occasion was dampened not a whit. In fact, the response of all and sundry appeared to have the reverse effect. The bridal party in our prejudiced opinion opinion were most attractively attired. The bride was radiant radiant in her gown, her attendants attendants were lovely in their deep purple gowns, the groom and his supporters on their part were handsome in their black tuxedos. Who says that clothes don't make the man? Even the bride's father showed a marked improvement improvement (badly needed). Reverend John Evans officiated officiated at the ceremony with style and expedience. The culprits who had scribbled scribbled "Help Me" on the soles of the groom's new shoes provided a touch ofhumor to our otherwise very serious ceremony. The combined musical talents of Linda Pfoh and Jack Gordon on the organ and piano was a real treat to the music lovers present. They deserve a lot of credit for their joint efforts. The reception reception and dance was held at Rne's Steak House in Lindsay. Following a sumptuous sumptuous roast beef dinner a fun-filled program of events evolved. In conclusion, we had a fine nuptial event and we appreciate the many acts of kindness and support from an endless number of volunteers. volunteers.
