His is survived by his wife Margaret, whom he married on March 15, 1934 in Orono; two sons, John and his wife Carolyn (Pat) of Oshawa and Bill Jr. of Oshawa; five sisters, May Rutter, Mrs. Walter Cole (Doris) Mrs. Herman Sweetman (Evelyn), Mrs. William Pierson (Lucille) and Mrs. D. Hardy (Irma); a sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Wade (Laura); and three grandchildren, Jeff, Terry, and Cathy. A sister, Mrs. Carl Shortt (Norma), and a brother, Charles Wade, died before him. A funeral service was conducted in the chapel at the Armstrong Funeral Home on September 6, 1989 followed by interment at Ebenezer Cemetery. Reverend D. Throop officiated officiated at the service.
