The Port Darlington Community Association held its yard sale on Saturday morning, August 26, just north of the Port Darlington Marina Hotel. Visitors were, no doubt, impressed with the wide selection of material that had been donated to the sale. Proceeds will help to pay the expenses of the Association. Mr. and Mrs. Alf Pigott, of Orono, were the lucky winners of the Propane B.B.Q. Fill-up Contest, held by the Fifth Wheel Restaurant on Waverley Road, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, on July 15th. The Pigotts won't go hungry this winter with their prize of 500 lbs. of beef in their freezer. The beef was supplied by Hayes meats of Bowmanville. Mark Allott is shown making the presentation to the Pigotts. Orono Figure Skating News Skating season is just around the corner and Orono Orono Figure Skating Club held its first registration on August August 28.
