June 14. 1989 3 Oshawa Driver Loses Control of His Car on Highway 2 Retiring Supervisor Honored at Party A lovely afternoon was spent at Bowmanville Lions Centre on Friday, June 9th, when many friends, parents, is leaving her work, as Su- S ervisor of Bowmanville fursery School, at the end of this term. The school room had been beautifully decorated with spring blooms and dainty tea tables were set for the friends. Greeting the many guests were Mrs. Christine Goad of the Nursery School Staff and Mrs. Margaret Killeen. Pouring tea from a silver service was Mrs. Evelyn Dunn with assistance from Mrs. Jo Davis of this year's staff and Mrs. Darlene Read. During the afternoon the following former Nursery pupils entertained with de- ligntful piano selections: David David Rice; Kristine Coles; Hannah Whately; Cristina Sousa; Janet Anderson and Ginette Purdy. About midway through the party, Mr. Jim Rickard of the Bowmanville Lions Club, spoke briefly of Mrs. Konzelmann's great contribution contribution to the school during her 13 years as Supervisor. He presented her with an elegant elegant leather briefcase. Several Several other Lions members added their appreciation as well. Mrs. Goad then presented presented Irene with a charming charming children's picture by Tri- cia Romance, on behalf of the staff, parents and friends. Mrs. Konzelmann spoke briefly to voice her sincere appreciation for her staff through the years and especially especially to this year's teachers who had organized such a delightful afternoon. She commented on the many changes which have occurred occurred but was so pleased with her association at this school. A tasty afternoon tea had been donated and prepared by the Nursery School mothers mothers and among the special guests at the tea was Mrs. Konzelmann's mother, Mrs. Use Stiebing of Germany. Copper Wire Stolen from CNR Poles In Newcastle Copper wire was apparently apparently stolen from Canadian National Railway poles in Newcastle over the past weekend. The new agency store is located in the IGA grocery store on Country Road #5 in Janetville, near Lindsay, owned by John and Dorothy Burn and managed by son. Robert Bum.
