At 2:00 p.m. the activities commenced with the baseball baseball game, enjoyed by those playing as well as by those watching. The sports committee committee consisting of Scott Down, John Snowden, and Donald Snowden held a great program of games for all ages. Shortly after 5 p.m., President President Sam Van Camp welcomed welcomed the families and called for the singing of grace. The table committee of Bert and Betty Snowden, Anna Snowden and Elmer Parks, and Bill and Bev Snowden had the tables set and well laden with the hot and cold pot luck supper. The Snowden crest was presented to Marion Snowden Snowden this year. A few other awards were also presented. Crystal Snowden correctly guessed the number and won the jelly beans in the jar. As did 1 1/2 year old Jana Cryderman with the jar of mints. Pretty smart little girl! Dot and Jim Ewing Ewing travelled the farthest, coming from Wiarton. The oldest family member in attendance attendance was Glad Trimble who celebrated her 97th birthday in April of this year. We are happy to say that Glad is the longest living living member of the Snowden family tree, and pleased that her health is good enough to allow her to enjoy her family picnic. The youngest member member present was 4 months old Rachel Pengelly. The man with the most keys was Ken Down with 23 keys, and the First Bag Lady of the Family Award was prese- sented to Greta Down. The minutes of the 1988 picnic were read and approved, approved, and a motion was made and seconded to hold the picnic again at Solina Hall bn the first Sunday of June 1990; carried. This year being election year, the following committees committees were filled for a 2 year term; 1990 and 1991. Sports Committee: Bill Pengelly, Randy Snowden, and Peter Snowden, Table Committee: Wes and Greta Down, Tom and Linda Wise, and Jerry and Linda Snowden, Secre- taryATreasurer: Catharine Cory, Vice President: Bessie Pengelly, President: Jim Ewing. x .Visiting continued among the cousins, and the younger ones played ball, while the kitchen and hall were cleaned up. Then with picnic baskets and lawn chairs packed away, good-byes were said for another year, after another successful Snowden picnic.
