On Friday, March 24 in game number one, we came out skating Hard against the Oshawa Canadians. In the first period, Collin Taggart Taggart scored an unassisted goal at 6:12 to tie the score. However, the Canadians put on the pressure scoring three more goals to defeat us 4-1. A much better game was seen later that day when we faced St. Anne's from Peterborough. Peterborough. With 2:21 remaining remaining in the first period, Wayde Putnam opened the scoring, assisted by Greg McMurter and Steve de- 1 Blois. It was still a tense game as we were outhus- tling Peterborough but nothing nothing seemed to go in until Collin Taggart scored two which put us on a roll. Ryan Robinson assisted Collin on his first and Greg McMurter and Wayde Putnam were the assist-getters for Collin's second goal. From thereon, we scored four more goals to shut out Peterborough 7-0. Jason Jackman tallied two goals while Brian Campbell and Sean Brown eacn scored one. On the last four goals the assists went to Steve Taylor (1), Ryan Robinson (2), Sean Brown (1), Collin Taggart (1), Warren Bate (1), and Jeff Murphy. On day two of the tournament, tournament, Pickering was our first opponent. Bowmanville came on strong as they hoped for a report of Friday's Friday's second game. Hutton Wins Two Games Three But Loses The Hutton Transport Atoms Atoms started the week with a. victory over- the Oshawa CYO Selects but, in their rematch rematch at the end of the week, went down to defeat. In between, the Hutton boys played in three more games ana came out on top in each. The busy week started on Tuesday, March 28th when Hutton Transport hosted the Oshawa CYO Selects in the Darlington Arena. An early first period goal by Peter Peter Schoep gave Hutton the lead. The lead was increased on a goal by Jeff Hughes and assisted by Peter Schoep and Alex Walcer. The first period was clearly Hutton's but the second period period _ belonged to no one. Scoring opportunities were numerous at both ends of the ice but this period ended with no goals. Ryan Stain- ton worked well between the Hutton goalposts and made a key save on an Oshawa breakaway. Hutton players moved the puck well but were unable to score. Twenty seconds into the third period, the Hutton defense defense was unable to clear a loose puck in front of their net and their lead was narrowed narrowed to one when Oshawa scored. With seven minutes remaining, the Truckers suddenly found themselves without a netminder when Ryan Stainton became sick. After playing two minutes without a goaltender, coach Les McCory gave Peter Schoep a set of goaltender gloves and stick and sent him out to guard the net.
