Peewee Selects Selects competed in the Oshawa Select Remax Tournament Tournament and came away champions. In the first game, Bowmanville Bowmanville faced off against Dofasco Steel Hawkes from Hamilton and came away with a 4 to 0 victory. In an excellent game, goalie Sarah Couch more than earned the shutout and captain Mike Suess scored a hat trick and Matt Yeo picked up a goal with assists going to Carlo Warr (2), Jason Wichman (2), Chad Veinot, Jeff Johnston Johnston and Mike Talotti. In the second game, Bow- manville's opponents were Little Britain and the I.O.O.F. Peewees came out flat and trailed 2 to 1 after two periods. The I.O.O.F. Peewees regrouped themselves themselves in between periods and scored four goals in the final five minutes of the game and skated away with a 5 to 3 victory, giving the I.O.O.F. Peewees a place in the 'A' Finals. Scoring for the I.O.O.F. Peewees were Andrew Allaire Allaire (2), Tim Day (2), and Carlo Warr with assists going going to J.P. Tousignant (3), Mike Talotti (2),' Matt Yeo, Andrew Allaire, Jason Wichman, Wichman, Carlo Warr, and Spencer Spencer Latin. This set up the Championship Championship game with Oshawa C.Y.O. and Bowmanville. Esso came away with a 7-1 victory for their efforts in the first game. T-Mac got the scoring under way at 13:38 of the first as the result of a scramble in front of the net. It took the Esso boys a couple of minutes to regain their composure before they could pull up their socks enough to tie it up. Wesley "Digger" Thompson assisted by Ryan Pingle got 401's tying tying goal at 10:33 and started us on our road to victory. Putting in the last counter counter of the first for Esso was Ryan Pingle on a pass from Wesley Thompson and David David Moriarity. Our lone goal of the second was netted by Ryan Pingle with Wesley Thompson drawing the assist. assist. Esso tallied four times in the third; Bryan Beitle from David Drummond and Peter Gadd, Cameron Millar on a pass from David Drummond, Drummond, Wesley Thompson off the stick of Ryan Pingle and then Ryan Pingle (hat trick) assisted by David Moriarity. Way to work team! 401 Esso pulled off a 6-0 win over Hydro on March 26th in an eight a.m. game at Darlington. Esso entered into the game rather cautiously cautiously ad they were down four players but gathered more momentum as they went along. 401 struck at 7:07 of the first when David Drummond unleased a shot assisted by Arron Stoker. Markers by Wesley Thompson Thompson assisted by Ryan Pingle and Arron Stoker, unassisted, unassisted, put us up by three at the end of the second. 401 capitalized on a beautiful beautiful passing play in front of the Hydro net at 13:18 of the third; Bryan Beitle picked up the pass from Arron Stoker and David Drummond Drummond tipping it into the open comer.
