The purpose of the meeting was to discuss with the public a proposed expansion of the company's landfill facility northwest of New- tonville. Numerous consultants answered many questions. This year's winner of the Ted Buttery Memorial Award presented to an outstanding outstanding 4-H member entering his or her first year of a university or community community college is Sharon Stapleton. The award is presented by the Durham Shorthorn Club in memory of Ted Buttery, past president of the club and an avid supporter of youth programs in Durham. In Canskate, Adam Cartier Cartier passed the Elementary badge on November 24. Orono skater, Melissa Allin, Allin, will join dance partner Mark Bradshaw, from the Upper Canada Skating Club to perform a Free Dance number in a special Christmas Christmas show held on December 4th at the North York Centennial Centennial Arena. The show is put on by the Upper Canada Skating Club for the Graphic Arts Union.
