As to local firefighters business, business, as mentioned in a previous previous article, the Township has purchased an 840 Pumper, fire truck, from the City of Peterborough. When it returns, in four to six weeks, from the Re-Fit, the truck will be operational throughout the township. To follow is a parade at 11:00 a.m. starting at the foundation (Richardson and John Streets) to go through the sub-division-to end at Pinewood Park on Propp Drive. The parade will include fire trucks, horses, clowns, antique cars, as well as best dressed dogs and bikes for which there will be prizes awarded. Join us at the park with our own picnic lunch or uy yours at old fashioned prices (Corn on the Cob-25 cents, hot dogs, 50 cents). To round out the rest of the afternoon, there will be three-legged races, water balloon toss, tug-of-war, just to mention a few of the games, with ribbons to all who participate. Be sure to set aside August 22nd and bring your friends to our family Fun Day.
