Corrie's parents really really did her a disservice when they arranged for her birthdate to arrive just before before Christmas. We enjoyed two to three hours of exceptionally exceptionally good tango music and professional dancing. How those gals' limbs defied defied the law of gravity was a wonder to behold coupled with a style and grace of movement almost feline in its application. In case you're interested, we provide provide the following bit of trivia. The tango was born mr BETAKING VIDEO Inc. The origin of the word 'tango' is possibly derived derived from the word tango - the beaten drum or more possibly from the Latin root tangere - to touch. No one can deny a well executed tango is a very sensual dance combining two choice elements - irotic and exotic. Too bad I was born with two left feet! (P.S. Cor- rie says you sure have.) Sorry the learn that the male half of our mail drivers drivers has been incapacitated with a bad hip, Mr. Melvin Wright. Fortunately his granddaughter is available to help his wife Ella with their mail route. The Wright family must have the distinction distinction of having driven the local rural mail for as long, if not longer, than any drivers in Ontario. Mel took over from his father, Lawrence, Lawrence, when he retired and with his good wife they have provided exemplary rural service ever since. In fact, during our lifetime, the Wright family have been the only ones we can recall having having provided this service -- and that goes back longer than we care to admit. All join in wishing Mel much improved health in the near future. Just got our Co-op calendar calendar and we are pleased to see the lovely farm home of our friends, Hilda and Henry Van Winkoop, winner winner of this year's 'Best Homestead' at Hastings County plowing match! Henry is a current Director and past Chairman of Fox- boro Co-op. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stinson and friends attended a show featuring Stephen Wright at the Massey Hall last week in Toronto. They report a very interesting evening with this well known comedian. The fourth Advent candle of Christmas was observed on Sunday at Yelverton United Church with a larger than usual turnout present. Sparking the additional interest, interest, no doubt, was the fact that the Sunday school students commenced with several of the children providing providing piano solos of various various Christmas carols. Their musical efforts fell somewhat somewhat short of professionalism professionalism as parents and grandparents winced every time one of their progeny hit a sour note. However, what they lacked in musical finesse was more than compensated compensated by their efforts and enthusiasm. We shall refrain from mentioning any of their names since we might forget a number of those participating. . Two lovely poinsettias were placed in the chancel in memory of Audrey and Don Brown by their family, the Picketts and the Irons. Following the church service service a pot luck dinner was enjoyed by those present. The Sunday school children under the guidance of Mrs. Hazel Gray and Mrs. Linda Page on the musical portion provided an interesting Christmas program. The local ladies who did so well locally in their curling curling endeavors by winning the local championships, last week met Waterloo in Trenton on Sat., Dec. 13 by losing both of their games vs a Toronto team and a team representing the Quinte zone. The girls slunk away home afterwards with their recently expanded chests reverting to their normal AA junior classification. classification. Oh well, girls, it was nice while it lasted! Better luck in the mixed curling games coming up. Perhaps the male participation will carry them through??? A couple of corrections to our last week's news budget. Apparently our pen kept right on working while our brain slipped into neutral. Mrs. Norman Rohrers maiden name was Doris Thompson, her brothers were Marlow, Stewart and Hector.
