London Life Beats Shoppers On Nov. 15th, the Tykes from both Shoppers' Drug Mart and; London:,Life came anxious to play' displaying many instances of high- energy, fast-paced hockey. A close game at 3-1 for London Life due in large measure to the fine goaltending of Michael McLeod for London Life and Stephen Tabb for Shoppers Drug Mart. Shoppers goal was by Dave Leppert assisted by Brad Chapman and Gordon Coggins. Jason Lange scored twice for London Life and Jamie Austin netted a nice one form the short slot. London Life assists were by Dave Yellowlees and Greg Masterson. Congratulations to all the boys on both clubs for a well played game. Fans should be advised that the coach for London Life was dressed in a suit because he was going out after the game. Scoring for Darlington were Brad Godfrey, Dave Brown, Gary Nemisz, Doug Crough and Mark Ellis., Assists went to Gary Nemisz 2, John Hogarth and Don Smith. Dan Gervais scored the lonè goal for Brothers. Game 2, Hunts Photo Studio defeated Jimmy's Flame Broil. 6-4 to take a share of 1st place. Scoring for Hunts were Brad Prentice 2, Bill Prentice 2, Barry Oliver and Darcy Huber. Assists went to Brad Prentice 3, Darrell Goudey, Bill Prentice, Paul Dadson Darcy Huber, Doug Rickard and Gary Oliver. Sophie is an exchange student from Thetford Mines Quebec and will be residing in Bowmanville until December 4. Kool Still in Top Spot m JUDO CLUB; In the past four weeks, members of the Kia-ora Judo Club have participated in four tournaments. The above members of the club have returned home with a,good, collection of trophies to show for their endeavours. Tammy earned a fj^st place trophy in Cambridgei f Second : at Newmarket and second at Peterborough along with a third in the Ontario Open: David Aldridge placed first in Cambridge, second at Newmarket and third in the Peterborough competition as well as third in the Ontario Open. Cam Sutherland Sutherland was first in Peterborough and third in the Ontario Open while Jeff Watson placed first in Peterborough. Tammy has been selected by Judo Ontario to participate November 29 in a Vancouver competition. And both David and Tammy have been invited to a Judo Ontario camp in December. Athletes from the camp will be selected as a team for the Canadian Winter Games in Nova Scotia this February. On Sat. Nov. 22, Kool played Nichols in a Bantam House League game with first place on the line. Kool were missing two defense- men whiph forced several players to play unfamiliar positions but everyone adjusted adjusted quickly and Kool was soon off to a 4-1 lead. Kool's goals were scored by Kevin Jay from Richard MacCheyne, Richard Smit unassisted, Mike Colborne on a beautiful set up from Scott Selleck who made a perfect drop pass to Mike Cruising in from the point, Tee Pees Win 2 Lose 1 TP Sportswear Oldtimers defeated Millbrook Super Bees 5-1 on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in Millbrook and Little Britain Oldtimers 7-3 on Wednesday, Nov. 12 in Bowmanville. On Friday, Nov. 7, the Tee Pees lost 6-1 against Marigold Oldtimers in Brooklin, Scoring for the week was Norm Lansing (6 goals, 1 assist), Warren Pemberton (2 goals, 6 assists), John Mara (2 goals, 2 assists), ,Ron .Aylsworth, Frank Devereaux and Bob King (1* goal each), Howie Pollard (5 assists), Ron Potter (2 assists), and Andy Morrison and Bob Hajduczek (1 assist each). On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Tee Pees will be heading for the annual tournament hosted by Little Britain Oldtimers. then Richard MacCheyne from Richard Smit. Two unfortunate penalties penalties to defensemen left Kool two men short and Nichols seized the opportunity to get back into the game. With four minutes remainingand the score tied 4-4, Nichols took the lead for the first time. Kool was now required required to mount an offence. With 40 seconds remaining, Richard Smit scored his second unassisted goal of the game to gain the 5-5 tie for Kool. Each member of the Kool team played well individually individually but more importantly they played well together so that the team played well. As a member of the Aquatics Aquatics Club, Sophie dedicates time five days per week to swimming practice. "Sophie is an asset to the club, a hard worker, and very self disciplined," commented commented the club's coach, Carol Gonder. Sophie said she also enjoys enjoys swimming outdoors, in lakes. "I like swimming long distances." During her stay in Bowmanville, Bowmanville, 15-year-old Sophie Morisset has been living at the home of Laura Silver, also a student at Bowmanville High School. In addition to swimming, Sophie attends violin lessons lessons in Oshawa, to keep up the studies she started in Quebec. ; Although Sophie will be leaving Bowmanville on December December 4, Laura Silver will be travelling to Quebec on January 30, to stay with Sophie on a similar three month exchange program. Toby's, who dropped 6 points back of second place, got goals from Ron Wheeler (2) and Dean Cox. Despite having only 7 skaters, Shoppers earned their fourth win of the season by downing Clinic 7-4 in Saturday's late game. Peter Hobb, scoring 4 times, was the story in this victory. Other goals were by Steve Gray, Ron Vallance and Wally McKay. Doug Leppert and G. MacDonald, each with 2, countered for the Clinic squad. Hanc's and TJ's played to a 3-3 draw much to the delight of a least one boisterous fan in Sunday's 8:30 contest. Trailing by 2, Erik Strand markers after 20 minutes, Hanc's drew to within one when John Stainton scored. However Chuck Daub's second of the season restored TJ's 2 goal cushion with 20 minutes to play. Back to back penalties gave Hanc's the opportunity they were looking for and goals by R.J.
