The first goal was scored by Brent Higgins, his first of the season, from ten yards out on a well placed pass from Nicholas DeFreitas. The second goal was scored by Martin Routh on an individual effort. Nicholas scored the third goal as he deflected an attempted clearing pass by the Wolves. The first-half ended with the Lions leading 3-0. The Wolves did not muster much offence in that half which left goalkeeper Matthew Brake with little work. However, they had scoring opportunities in the second-half proving that they Hi! My name is Christopher Alexander Graham and I will be one year old August 23rd, 1986. Steven Brinkman took a free kick from thirty yards out to Martin. He then took a shot which caught the upper right corner of the net for the final goal. Steven controlled controlled mid-field with great skill and got lots of help from Chris Baumhauer, Robbie Lament, Ainsley Boudreau and Matthew. The defense consisting of Ian Robinson, Jacklyn Thertell, Joseph Robichaud and Michael Penney did a good job protecting protecting the front of the net, while the forwards which includes Kevin Chalmers, Brian Ball andNicoTensen did their part in keeping the ball out of their end most of the game. Jacklyn, Joseph and Kevin had one of their better games as they played with more intensity. Nico and Brent really played their wingers position well as they controlled controlled the side lines. With only two games left, the team need only a tie to clinch second place in the United Soccer League, a well deserved position. What is most amazing about the Bowmanville resident's gift of verse is the fact that although he is 84 years old, he only started writing poems in January. His knack for putting his thoughts in verse indicates a genuine, if previously undiscovered talent. Royal Hall only started to write his poems about eight months ago. But the 84-year-old Bowmanville Bowmanville resident expresses expresses his thoughts with the kind of ease that some writers writers can only achieve after years of practice. "I don't know whether they're any good or not," he confides, as he describes the 30 to 40 poems he has produced to date. But the gift of verse came to him quite suddenly. In fact, it happened shortly after the death of his son, in January. He wrote how he felt at that time and the words have continued to come to him ever since. Mostly, the poems are about such topics as family and politics. Some are religious religious or devotional in nature nature and many of them are autobiographical. An employee of Goodyear Canada Inc. for 39years, Mr. Hall arrived in Canada in 1912 at the age of 10. He was one of the many boys who were sent to Canada from orphanages in England to work on farms. In his case, he had previously been raised at the Fegan Home in England following the death of his parents. Royal Hall and his wife, Doris, have been married 59 years and have five grandchildren grandchildren and six great grandchildren. They raised three children, two daughters and one son. Like most writers, he's not sure where the inspiration comes from. But once he gets an idea, he works through many drafts of a poem before he gets it the the final form. "Sometimes "Sometimes one word will make a difference to the whole thing," he explains. And although his formal education doesn't extend much beyond early elementary elementary school, Mr. Hall's gift for self-expression is evidence evidence of a much wider kind of learning. The following is one example of his poetry and it is unique in that it represents represents his very first poem. It reads as follows: I know I'm not a poet. To that you'll testify. But I wrote some words of wisdom I hope you'll not deny. So while our lives are saddened saddened And many tears are shed, Let's not forget the living While we mourn the dead. And while our hearts are aching, Our life is sad and torn, Let's not forget the wee ones That are, as yet, unborn. Your No. 1 Video Stop...
