The forward line consisting of Nico Tensen, Martin Routh, A solid 2-hit pitching effort by Philips of Little Britain combined with a 14-hit performance performance and one bad inning by the Canadian Tire Midget boys, Little Britain has a 1-0 advantage in the best of 5 O.B.A. play-downs. Little Britain picked up two runs in the first on two hits and a sacrifice. The locals replied Nicholas Defreitas and Brent Higgins provided a lot of excitement around the Beavers' goal as they had many scoring opportunities, only to be foiled by the goal- tender or offsides. Brent had a good second half using his speed to move the ball down field. Chris Baumhauer, playing right mid-field, stopped a potential break-away to help provide the shutout by Michael Penney. Michael made the save of the game midway in the first-half stopping a breakaway breakaway from five yards out. He played it well, coming out to cut off the angle and took the ball off the offender's feet. The defense consisting of Ainsley Boudreau, Jacklyn Thertell, Kevin Chalmers, Joseph Robichaud and Brian Ball (welcome back) had their personal moments of glory. with one on a L.B. error and a sacrifice fly by Mike Gallant.
