The Mearns Ave. plant will be in operation soon. It will manufacture packaging packaging materials for the sanitary sanitary industry and will employ employ about 35 persons. "We should be in production production by the end of the month," said B.W. Petron, general manager of Canadian Canadian operations. The Bowmanville factory is a branch of the American firm Paramount Packaging Inc., one of the major packaging packaging companies in the U.S. The firm has plants in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas. Harold Isen is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the American company as well as president of the Canadian operation. "The company has found there is a demand for its goods in Canada," said Mr. Petron. He adds that his company plans to expand rapidly as it moves to meet the needs of its Canadian clients. Factors influencing the company to locate in Bowmanville Bowmanville include a proximity proximity to markets and a good supply of qualified staff. With excellent products, staff, and markets, this new Bowmanville industry foresees a swift expansion of its Canadian operations in 1987.
