George was born at Whitevale, Pickering Township, Ont. County. He was the son of the late William and Minnie Knox, and dear brother of Ross of Deltona, Florida; Evelyn (Mrs. C. Surphlis) of DeLeon Springs, Florida; Harry of Solina and Barbara (Mrs. K. Pascoe) of Beaverton, and the late John, Walter and Helen Knox. Surviving are his wife, formerly Eileen Farrow, and four children, Carol of Grimsby; Marilyn (Mrs. T. Morawetz), Enniskillen; Ron of Toronto, and Kathryn (Mrs. G. Upon his return to civilian life in 1945, he purchased a farm at Bradley's Corners. He married Eileen Farrow on December 18, 1948 and their four children were raised here. In 1952, he began work at General Motors and farmed as well. Ill health forced him to retire in 1974. A few years ago, he sold the farm and moved to a new smaller house, still on the land he loved so well. Much of his retirement years were spent happily helping his son-in-law with the farming. As a young man, he enjoyed playing as goalie for Solina Senior Soccer Team. George had served on the Solina Hall Board for many years, and was a Steward at Eldad Church. George enjoyed his roll as grandfather to Mitchell. He was a quiet, wise, thoughtful man who was devoted to his wife and family and was a most helpful neighbour to all. Pallbearers were his son Ronald, his sons-in-law Tom Morawetz and Guido Casciato; his nephews, Ken and Dean Knox and his neighbour, Ross Cryderman. Funeral Service was. held from Morris Funeral Chapel on November 30th with Interment at Zion Cemetery. The Rev. Robin Thomson officiated at the service. The many floral arrangements, the donations to the Heart and Stroke Fund, /and to Eldad Church expressed the high esteem in which George was held. j YMCA Family Happenings Design and Knit Knitting Classes for the Experienced Knitter Knit a sweater of your own dèsign under the direction of Gail Gray, experienced knitter.
