The singing of the Ode and the repeating of the Lord's Prayer opened the meeting. - The Roll Call was "How would you improve your community if you were head of Government?" Membership Membership fees were collected. Minutes were read and 'approved and Treasurer's report was given showing a 'balance of $587.91. ' The 4H Achievement night and Fashion Show on "Action Wear" will be held at Bowmanville High School on April 25th at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. C. Swallow gave the "Good Neighbours" report. Mrs. R. Metcalf commented on the "Rug Braiding" Summary Day at Orono on March 25th and the R.S.V.P. held at Solina on March 27th. Mrs. A. Vandergaast reported on the District Executive meeting held at Mrs. H. Prescott's and Maple Grove W.I. are in charge of the "In Memoriam." Mrs. S. Found and Mrs. E. Wihlidal are in charge of plans for food for Trousseau Tea for Sandra Polak. The regular collection and Pennies for Friendship were taken. Kelsey. Mrs. H. Prescott conducted the Installation of Officers. Mrs. W. Brown called on Mrs. A. Vandergaast for her program program on Citizenship, Mrs. Vandergaast gave a short Easter meditation. The Motto - "Ask not what your Institute can do for you, but what can you do for your W.I." was commented on by Mrs. W. Laird. She said as W.I. members we need first of all Jo-come to the meeting, listen to be informed and learn about the worthwhile projects of W.I. The present project of safe drinking water for all is hoped to be achieved by 1990. As_W.I. members we must voice our opinions, take part in discussion, become involved involved and develop leadership skills. We as individuals can't do all things but we can do some to contribute to the growth of W.I. and to our growth as individuals as well. Mrs. H. Cryderman with Mrs. W. Laird as pianist led in a parade of songs starting with "Your Easter Bonnet." Mrs. Cryderman and Mrs. W. Laird put on a skit about a farmer applying for a marriage license at a car license bureau. Mrs. Cryderman Cryderman divided the members into three groups for a contest and the prize winners won cream Easter eggs. Mrs. W. Brown, retiring president, thanked all members for their help during her term of office and called on Mrs. R. Metcalf to assume her roll as President. Mrs. R. Metcalf closed the meeting with the repeating of the Collect and the singing of "O Canada." Hosts Luncheon For Senior Citizens On Tuesday, April 9th, the / C.W.L. of St. Joseph's, Bowmanville, hosted a Diocesan Luncheon for Senior Citizens. Several came from the Peterborough area. The president, Elizabeth Jones, extended a warm welcome to everyone. A delicious lunch was prepared and served by the C.W.L. members. After lunch a musical program had the guests clapping their hands. Louise Wright accompanied accompanied on the piano by Pat Prout sang "I Had a Dream" and "One Day at a Time." Mara O'Brien, a grade eight student from St. Stephen's School, did a Public Speaking Speech entitled "I Want a Dog." Ewald Whilhadal and his daughter Betty Anne Sommerscales sang and played some good old Country Music. The afternoon ended with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Father Frank Mihelic.
