Here are two of the best: Snow By Bobbie Ellis Snow is fluffy, like cotton balls, Sometimes people don't know it falls. It's like an ice cream soda at the fair; You can build a snowman in the cool air. Snow By Ricky Kennedy Snow is cold and fluffy, Just like a white blanket. It feels like ice cream. Creek! it goes when you step on it. Packy. Cold. Snow! MRS. VAN SEGGELEN'S CLASS By Natalie Axclson and Diana Moriarity Mrs. Van Seggelen's Grade One class has been working very hard. The class has started to learn about 'Snow' in Environmental Studies class. The children have been going to man activity centres that are about snow (18 centres). They have been bringing in snow from outside and experimenting with it i.e. cooking snow. The class is decorated with outstanding paper snowflakes and snowmen. In Math they are doing facts of one and two and' they are learning to count to 100. They are learning rhyming words and word families. They're also producing great stories and one story dictated by Adele MacKenzic is seven pages long. (There is not room for it in our column). "ALRIGHT, I MADE THE TEAM" were the first reactions of some of the girls who made the W.P.S. girl's volleyball team. Mrs. Freeman, a grade 6 teacher and Mrs. Clement, a grade 4 teacher are coaching the team. It was a hard decision to choose which girls would make it. Here are the girls who made it: Erin Spencer, Danielle Big Canoe, Jennifer Dempster, Andrea Clark, Andrea McManus, Alishia Belfour, Kelly Conway and Lesley Britton. The team will be playing against all the schools in Bowmanville and Newcastle.
