Senior Public School News By Janet Anderson and Christy Nickerson In the past few weeks at B.S.P.S. many events took place. One of the big events was Career Day on November 14th. This was an opportunity for the students to learn about the career in which they expressed an interest. Among the professionals who came to our school to speak were a lawyer, veterinarian, doctor, nurse, dentist, policeman and teacher. The students were able to pick two careers of their choice. Everyone enjoyed this special day. This year, for the first time ever, our school band played as part of the Santa Claus Parade. We played standards such as "Frosty the Snowman," "Angels We Have Heard on High," and many other Christmas favorites. We performed on the corner of King and Division Streets. Our 60-piece band played very well and hope you enjoyed listening. Our school volleyball teams have not been finalized, however, tryouts have been moving along. The teams should be finalized within the next few weeks. Mrs. Hansen and Miss Dean are coaching the girls' team while Mr. Mathe instructs the boys. Good luck to everyone! Since last week our school has had a guest. She is a close friend of one of our staff, Miss Harterre. Ghyslaine Cormier and Miss Harterre attended the same university in Quebec. Arriving from Npwnnrf Guphpp Ohvdainp came to visit Miss Harterre, as well as to learn to speak English. She is in turn, assisting Miss Harterre in her French Classes. Miss Cormier will be leaving sometime next week. We have enjoyed hosting her. We are fortunate enough to be able to have viewed a play, based on information found in the diaries, journals, books and letters of four pioneer women. The actresses were Cathy Wendt, Heather Swain, Peggy Sample and Marilyn Norry. The directors of this fine performance, "Love and Work Enough," included Mary Vingoe and Cynthia Grant. As you can tell, these past few weeks in November has proven to be very exciting. mm rAA-rA^u/,. -4-nwn WIRELESS REMOTE!
