NELLIE FEDDEMA The death of Mrs. Nellie Feddema, aged 54, occurred suddenly on Thursday, September 27th, 1984, when she was struck by a car while walking on Highway 57. Born in Holland, she was the daughter of Mrs. Y. Sikma and the late Mr. Sikma. On April 8th, 1952, she was married to Mr. Peter Feddema. A resident at 10 Martin Road, Bowmanville, she had previously resided on Middle Road, Bowmanville. She was a member of the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church and of the Women's Institute of the church. Mrs. Feddema was a homemaker and a graphoanalyist. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, her mother, five daughters, Edna DeRoo, Nelly Rekker, Sonya VanderVeen, Sharon VanderHerberg, Yvonne Kode, a son Tom Feddema and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church on Monday, with the Reverend A. Dejager officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs. Pete, Pier, Tom and John Sikma, Bill Flikkema and Sjerp VanderMeer. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. MARY JANE (MAY) DADSON Born and educated at Trillick, Northern Ireland, Mary Jane (May) Dadson, passed away on Monday, September 24th, 1984, in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville in her 88th year. Daughter of the late George and Annie (Gibson) Hilliard, she was married on April 15th, 1922, in Oshawa, to the late Harry Dadson. A resident for 47 years at 151 Liberty Street, South, she had resided with her son Ted and daughter-in-law Sheila, for 11 years at 33 Hilltop Drive. For the past year and a half she had resided at the Strathaven Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church and a member of the Memorial Park Association. A devoted wife and mother her interests centred around her home, church, family, relatives and friends. Survivors include her sons George and Ted, Bowmanville and Bill of Peterborough, daughters-in-law Sheila and Marion, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a sister Maud Wiggans, Oshawa. She was predeceased by her husband and a daughter Ada (Toots). The Reverend Byron Yates officiated at the funeral services held on Wednesday, at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers were sons George, Bill and Ted, grandsons John, Larry and Paul. Tributes were received in her memory from the Goodyear Office, Peterborough General Electric friends and neighbors. Donations were made in her memory to the Diabetic Association and the Ontario Heart Association, Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. OBITUARY HOWARD JAMES McMULLEN 1907 -1984 Howard James McMullen, a highly respected citizen passed away September 22; 1984 at the Doctor J. O. Ruddy Hospital, Whitby in his 78tn year. He was born in Manvers Township July 22,1907, son of the late James McMullen and the late Sarah Graham. He lived with his parents on farms near Lifford, then Janetville and then to a farm two miles south of Yelverton. He received his education at Janetville and Lotus schools. Howard married Mabel Campbell Sept. 29, 1928. She predeceased him March 24, 1982. He is survived by two- daughters, Marion (Mrs. I Edmunds) of Peterborough,; and Beth (Mrs. Bill Bradley) of Bowmanville. Lovingly remembered by four grandchildren grandchildren and the late Patricia Edmunds and five great grandchildren. Loved brother of the late Ola Sisson and the late Vertil McMullen. He was a member of Lotus and Cadmus United Churches until their closure and then was a member of Yelverton United Church until his death. He was a Charter Member of- the Loyal Orange Lodge and; also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. In Rev. Rodgers' eulogy, he. said Howard was a loving and- devoted husband, a very faithful faithful dad, a dear grandfather and great grandfather, a loving brother, uncle, and. brother-in-law. A thoughtful and kind neighbour and a' great friend of a countless number of people, he gained the respect of many. He made friends wherever- he went and as the McMullen! Home always had an open door policy, he enjoyed visiting visiting and reminiscing with friends of all ages. During Howard's farming career, he saw many changes - from horse power to tractor power - to self propelled, machinery. At this time he; started doing custom work! extensively which certainly! enlarged his circle of friends and acquaintances, as he worked on many farms for miles around. In April 1965 they moved to Port Perry where Howard, continued working for..- the Massey Dealer, Gord Morrow. From there he spent several years as maintenance custodian custodian at Port - Perry High School. After his retirement at the school he worked for his good friend Arnold Kerry at. Utica Farm Equipment.' Howard was very mechanically mechanically inclined and was a great help to those who worked with him. He was a man of good will,' knowledgeable, honourable, and enriched the lives of' many. He will be sadly missed; by his family and a multitude" of friends. Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 24, 2:00 p.m. at the Harold Wagg Funeral ' Home, Port Perry. The service service was conducted by Rev. Arthur Rodgers of Greenbank, - with interment at Nestleton. United Church Cemetery. ; Pallbearers were Ross and- Rick Edmunds, Brian Tisdale, Brian Gray, Arnold Kerry, - Bill MacDonald. The many floral arrangements arrangements and charitable donations donations were an indication of the high esteem in which Howard was held and were greatly appreciated by the family.
