Dennison's should not be too disappointed, however, as they displayed the same fine sportsmanship and play in their three playoff games as they had all season. On Tuesday, September 4, playing on their home field at Durham Christian High School, the girls overwhelmed a game Ajax team by the score of 4-0. This victory moved them into the quarterfinals quarterfinals played on September 11. Dennison's played that game in Whitby and it was one of the best and most exciting matches of the season. When the dust or more accurately, the mud had settled, the girls with a fine team effort had secured a 1-0 victory. That win set up the semi-final match last Thursday. The last game was one which could have gone either way and unfortunately the ball was not bouncing our way. The girls on the sidelines, taking a breather, lead the cheering urging their side on. The loss was certainly not as a result of a lack of effort. There were several beside the girls who deserve mention for their contributions during the season. Dennison Manufacturing for their sponsorship, the officials for their work during the games, the parents for their driving, cheering, and all around and very vocal support and especially coach A1 Cole, who gave so much time and effort to put together a winning team.
