Don Staples, an Orono. water color painter, was one of the local artists represented at the Visual Arts Centre's annual fine arts show. St. Paul's U.C.W. The Salem unit of St. Paul's U.C.W. met at the home of Kay Stephen on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Kay Stephen opened the meeting with a poem entitled September Song. We were reminded of the U.C.W. Pot Luck Supper at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19. Final plans were made for the first Medical Luncheon for this season, also on Sept. 19. At the Country Fair at St. Paul's on September 27, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Salem unit will be responsible for the Plants and Produce table. Since St. Paul's is celebrating celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year, anyone wishing to wear old fashioned clothes will be most welcome. The devotional program was conducted by Mrs. Craig and Mildred Phillips based on Exodus 3 and readings by James Taylor entitled When God Got Lost and When God Breaks Through. Alice Burgess Burgess completed the evening with some humorous readings from a book entitled Treasure Island, followed by lunch and a social time. The next meeting will be on Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Carol Barraball.
