Yasuko Nagase, an exchange student with Rotary Rotary International, will be spending a year in Canada. Canada. Yasuko is from the city of Kanagawa, near Tokyo. Learning English and meeting people are the two priorities of 18-year-old Yasuko Nagase, a Rotary International International exchange student student who will be spending a year in Bowmanville. Yasuko arrived in Canada March 26 and is currently staying at the home of George and Kay Moore in Bowmanville. She will be living with four local families during her year in Canada. Yasuko said last week that her home is the city of Kanagawa located approximately approximately 60 miles south of Tokyo. Her father, who operates a. hardware store in Kanagawa, is a Rotarian. Yasuko, who is the youngest in the family, has one sister and one brother. Yasuko said she had some idea of what Canada would be like because a friend was a Rotary exchange student in Toronto. Although she has been in Canada for less than a month, she has already already tried downhill and cross-country skiing. In Japan, she plays tennis, tennis, badminton, baseball and basketball. She also enjoys enjoys knitting, playing the piano, and cooking. One of the things she likes most about Canada is the fact that it has so much open space. She has found many differences between attending attending school here and going to school in Japan. Canadian schools are not as strict as those of Japan and she finds that Canadian students have much more freedom. Japanese high school students wear uniforms uniforms and must follow a number of rules which include, include, for example, a prohibition prohibition on make-up and permanents. Japanese students, students, unlike their Canadian Canadian counterparts, are required required to clean their school and classrooms regularly. She has also found that the teachers in Japanese high schools are more strict. Yasuko's course of studies includes Math, Data Processing, English, Family Studies, and Physical Education. Education. Since she has already completed high school in Japan, Yasuko plans to study Economics at university university when she returns home next year. We're Expanding!
