Members of the chorus were Winton Bag- nell, Archie Woods, Stan Robinson, R.E. Logan, A.W. Pickard, Willian Shotter, Roland Bates, Albert Gulley, Gulley, Alex Colville, James Pickard, E. S. Wilcox. 25 Years Ago Thursday, February 26th, 1959 The Retail Merchants Section of the Bowmanville Chamber of Commerce working with Police Chief Bernard R. Kitney recently setup a warning system that is working well, and now has come to be regarded as a model for other centres. The Financial Post in the issue of February 14th carried carried a front page story on this Bowmanville chain reaction reaction system, and lauded its value. Last Friday the secretary-manager of the Bowmanville Chamber of Commerce, K.N. Morris, was visited by a member of the Public Relations Department Department of the Bell Telephone Telephone Company of Canada, who told Mr. Morris that he is writing an editorial on the warning system for the company paper. At an impressive ceremony ceremony last week, Scout Jim McDonald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald McDonald, Silver St., Bowmanville, was presented with his Queen's Scout Badge, the highest award in Scouting. Walter DeGeer was presented presented with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award last week during Bowmanville Rotary Club's 50th Anniversary Anniversary celebrations. Len Moelker and À1 Connell Connell weré in chargé of setting setting up a display for their marketing course in Grade XI at B.H.S. The furniture used in the display was supplied by Mulder's. A Bon Voyage Party was given by Mrs. ' Glenholme Hughes at the Legion Hall on March 15th, for her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. James F. Krapp (Tina) who leave for Australia next week where Mr. Krapp is employed with Price Waterhouse, Chartered Chartered Accountants. Beginning on Tuesday, April 10th, the local Christmas Seal organization will hold a Better Breathing Course for adults with respiratory respiratory disease, in the second floor Gymnasium at Oshawa General Hospital, 24 Alma Street, Oshawa, Offered free of charge as a Christmas Seal service, the Course will run for seven consecutive sessions during a four week period, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Course members will be taught breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and simple tolerance exercises. Medical professionals will be on hand throughout the Course to answer questions on medications, medications, diet and the overall management of lung disease. All exercise procedures will be under the direction of a licensed physiotherapist. This is a basic program, designed to give respiratory patients an introduction to self-help techniques which, when applied, can improve the quality of day-to-day living.
