Sorry, guest speaker Helen Campbell was unable to attend due to serious flooding at their farm home. The heavy snowfall plus the mild weather had its drawbacks for many in this;vicinity. Pres. Bernice Mairs brought the meeting to order with a warm welcome and read an interesting interesting poem for Valentine's Day, followed followed by hymn "Love Divine, all loves excelling." excelling." Barbara Weir gave an excellent worship worship period continuing with the "love" theme, interspersed with hymn singing- a splendid reading- and closing with Prayer. During correspondence many thank you notes were received from those who enjoyed cheer boxes at Christmas. A card was signed by all for a flu victim. Many items of business were discussed and action taken: The Spring Smorgasbord to be held May 4 at Nestleton Community Centre. U.C.W. meetings to commence at 1 p.m. during 1964. World Day or Prayer to be hosted by Blackstock United Church- May 2- 2:00 p.m. Annual meeting of Oshawa Presbyterial United Church Women to be held in Northminster United Church, Oshawa, Wed. March 7th. Bay of Quinte Conference to be held in Queen Street United Church, Lindsay, April 3 and 4 - theme - "Faith in Action." Members of the U.C.W. will be assisting at the 80th birthday tea for Mrs. Ella Bowers to be held in Blackstock Old Town Hall, Saturday, Feb. 25th, 2 to 4 p.m. The programme con- sited of readings and contests by different members, closing with Benediction. A nice feature of the meeting - an honoured guest who is recent bride, Carlyn Vine, was presented with a gift of money by the U.C.W. President Bernice Bernice Mairs. Carlyn expressed expressed her appreciation to the members-and this was followed by refreshments, including a lovely decorated cake in honour of the occasion. A social hour was enjoyed. enjoyed. Mabel Cawker thanked those responsible responsible for the interesting afternoon - and a word of thanks to the hostess, Jean Williams. Caesarea Euchre Results A very good attendance attendance on Wed. evening and congratulations to the prize winners. First prize- Norma Jean Newbold- 96. Second- Del Marlow- 85. Low- Janice Page- 45. Next week at the same place - Caesarea Centre - for an interesting evening and ; perhaps a coveted prize to take home. Birthday Celebrated Saturday, February 18, was the occasion for a lovely birthday celebration at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stan McNeely, Williams Point, and attended by all members of the immediate immediate family for the gala event - the 83rd birthday birthday of Stan McNeely, Senior. The recipient reveived numerous gifts, cards and telephone calls from friends and a bountiful bountiful dinner provided and served by members of the family. On Sunday, a beautiful birthday cake was received from the Victor Malcolm family and a second one from neighbours on William)» Point Road. At the close of the Nestleton Presbyterian Church service on Sunday morning morning - coffee and birthday cake were provided by the Ladies Aid. What a wonderful celebration! We extend our warmest wishes to friend Stan - on reaching this milestone in his life. Stan and Daisy McNeely will observe Daisy's 80th birthday and their 57th wedding anniversary in April.
