The committee has named the proposed hostel "Auberge" fhaven) and is seeking a downtown Oshawa location close to crucial facilities such as Manpower, the Alexandra Clinic, Legal Aid, Family Court and public transit. This month, a brochure and letter were sent to all clubs and organizations in the region, outlining the plans for "Auberge" which will offer both long and short term accommodation to abused women and their children, including guidance and referral referral service. It asked for the financial support and donations donations of furniture of those organizations. Speakers are available to interested organizations to explain the needs and plans of "Project Auberge" in greater detail. The Women's Hostel Committee Committee is appealing to all elected officials throughout the region to obtain their support support for "Auberge" while soliciting soliciting federal, provincial, and municipal sources for funding.
