It was the first inning Fee Wees Results j (As of July 4) Washbasin four wins, one loss. Cardinals three wins, one tie, and one loss. Annis three wins and three losses. Orono 2 three wins, three losses. Yanks two wins, one tie, and three losses. Orono 1 one win and four losses. that killed Magee's team as Jone's team scored 12 runs. After giving up two more runs in the 2nd inning, Magee shut Jone's offence down while their offence slowly pecked away at Jone's lead. But they came up short and lost the game 14 to 9. Jones was led by Mike Littleton who went 2 for 2 with an RBI. The brother, combination of Mike and Tim Dakin also helped as they both went 2 for 3 with two RBI's. Manager, Rob Magee led his team by going 3 for 4 with an RBI. Steve Zealand went 2 for 3 with an RBI while Mike Gronefield hit two triples, going 2 for 4 with two RBI's. Girls' Softball League HANDICAP GOLF -- The Tamarac Golf and Country Club wishes to announce the 2nd Annual 17 to 40 Handicap Tournament which will be held Saturday, August 13th, 1983, for the Pat Leahy Memorial awards and the Gilbey's Trophy. This tournament is designed to give the higher handicap golfer the opportunity to win his first tournament. BICYCLE RACING -- Cycling, before all others, is the quintessential European sport. Its champions champions prevail against cruelly overwhelming odds. While cycling in Ontario is not the high profile sport that it is in Europe, approximately 100 Senior I and II riders and several hundred Senior III riders appear regularly on the Ontario loop, making occasional forays into the U.S. and' Quebec in search of top level competition. Besides Besides the Senior categories, there are also races for the oldsters, youngsters and novices. Categories are determined by age, ranging from Pee Wee (12 to 13 years) to veterans (over 35 years old). With the exception of Novices all racers must obtain a licence to compete. Licences, as well as the events themselves, are controlled by the Ontario Ontario Cycling Association, an affiliate of the Canadian Canadian Cycling Association. PLAYERS & PARENTS During the 1983 Annual B.M.H.A. meeting, parents indicated they would like to see the B.M.H.A. switch to the long pant Cooperall concept. Parents of- the 1982-83 B.M.H.A. players were polled in writing during May and June. The results were ip excess of 90% in favor of the long pant with the parents picking up the cost of the girdle and B.M.H.A. picking up the cost of the long pant. The B.M.H.A. executive has changed the equipment dress code to the Cooperall girdle with long red pants with a white stripe. The tendered supplier is Canadian Tire Store, Bowmanville. The long pants have been ordered by the B.M.H.A. executive. Girdles will be sized and fitted on an individual parent player basis at the sports section of the Canadian Tire Store. A $15.00 deposit per girdle is required at the time the order is placed. Orders can be placed NOW but MUST be in by August 31, 1983 to ensure delivery by the start of the 1983-84 hockey season. The only exception to the dress code will be goaltenders who will be supplied with B.M.H.A. goaltenders short pants. Enquire at Canadian Tire Sports Section for summer sales on other hockey needs.
