LETTER TO THE EDITOR Editor's Mail: Amalgamated, merged, into the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle, along with many other villages, hamlets, and rural areas, as part of the Regional Municipality of Durham. However I do believe that since this Town of Newcastle was unwillingly thrust upon us,the best should be attempted. attempted. I do not believe its of any value to continue bickering over the past, which cannot be retrieved. We, the citizens of the new Town of Newcastle, should bury our past differences differences and should look into the future and attempt to make the Town of Newcastle known throughout the Region, Province, Province, Country, and attempt to get the name of the Town of Newcastle on the map. The council of the Town of Newcastle should be looking at the present and the future, with every citizen behind the council, in the attempt to put the Town of Newcastle on the map. This is not to say that the names of Towns, Villages, Hamlets etc. should be erased. Their names should also be shown on the map.
