Town Raised *5,000 in Week To Equip Memorial Hospital After Citizen Donated Land Nineteen eighty three is an important year in the life of Memorial Hospital, members of Memorial Hospital Corporation Corporation were told last Wednesday, Wednesday, June 15. Hospital Board Chairman Harry Locke noted in his annual report that exactly 70 years ago, in 1913, Mr. J. W. Alexander offered to donate land and buildings for a hospital hospital on the condition that $5,000 could be raised by the community community to equip the facility. Obituary WILLIAM (BILL) WHITEHEAD William (Bill) Whitehead passed away in Bowmanville Memoriall Hospital, on Saturday Saturday June 1 ,11th, 1983, after a lengthy illness... . He was born on June 7th, 1916, to Jessie and John Whitehead in the city of Toronto where he lived as a child and received his education. education.
