MEETING On Wednesday evening June 15th, Shiloh U.C.W. met in the church basement with 20 ladies present. We were very pleased to welcome a new member Mrs. Sandra Goor- barry. President Ruth Andrews was in charge of thé meeting which began by the singing of the hymn "Rise up, O Men of God." The devotional devotional was taken by Ellen Farrow. As this was a Missions meeting, meeting, we enjoyed hearing a tape by the late Mrs. Lillian Dickson Dickson who had been a missionary missionary for over 51 years and connected with the Mustard Seed Mission in Formosa which is now Taiwan. She had worked as a teacher and her experiences were very interesting. interesting. Reports were given by Gloria Todd and Margaret Todd. It was announced that the Thanksgiving Anniversary services would be held at Shiloh United on Sunday, October 16th, Volunteers are needed for the refinishing of the piano. Anyone can help out whether you have experience or not. There will be no U.C.W. meetings during July and August, so we will not meet again until September 21st. The meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction. A "floral wedding" contest was conducted conducted by Edna Dobson and won by Ada Hallowell. A very successful silent auction followed. The few things that were left ware auctioned off very capably by Janet Lynn. A tasty lunch was then served with a cold drink on such a hot evening. OBITUARY MRS. OLIVE McKEE Mrs. Olive Mary McKee, a lifelong resident of Cartwright Township, passed away peacefully on April 25, 1983 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Port Perry. She was in her 85th year. Born on October 12,1898, she was the elder daughter of the late James Thompson and Annie Patterson ana received her education at Devitt's School. On April 16, 1930 she married Marwood McKee. Together, she and Marwood successfully farmed until they retired and moved into their new home in Blackstock in 1966. A faithful member of Cadmus Methodist Church and later Blackstock United Church, she took an active interest in all community activities where she did her part as long as she was able, Olive will be greatly missed by her many friends. Left to mourn her passing are her husband Marwood, Fern and Bruce Lawson of Nestleton, her dear sister and nephew respectively. A memorial service was. conducted at McDermott- Panabaker Funeral Chapel, Port Perry by her minister Rev. Dale Davis. Interment was at St, John's Cemetery, Blackstock.
