Mayor Seeks AMO Re-Election Newcastle's mayor will be seeking another term on the Board of Directors for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Mayor Garnet Rickard announced announced his intention to run for the AMO position during a council session on Monday. Town council agreed to sup port the mayor in his bid for re-election. Mayor Rickard is currently the political chairman of the AMO's committee on culture and recreation. Bowmanville Midgets Ploying .500 Baseball BY DOUG RITCHIE Since the start of baseball this year, the Midgets have been playing with a lot of sparkle. They have played a total of eight games so far and have won four and lost four. The teams they have beat they have BEAT soundly. They took Ajax 13 - 5, Port Hope 8 - 3, Little Britain 13 - 5 and Kingston 8 - 0. Chris Michelson takes credit for three wins and Chris Lee one win as pitchers. In the four losses they were very close, all but one, two by two runs, one by one run and the other was out of sight. In all of the games it has produced produced some really sharp baseball. baseball. One game saw Chris Michelson strike out 22 batters, batters, a feat he completed last ffflliSMMUIA'? The whole team deserves mention but it would take all day, so I will just let you know who all plays on the team.
