During this span the teams played against squads from Central Collegiate, Collegiate, O'Neill Collegiate and Donevan respectively. Lady Luck was definitely not on the junior team's side as they dropped all three games. On the other hand though, the senior team is enjoying a very successful season. iThe team dropped a squeaker against Central and then rebounded with impressive impressive victories over O'Neill and Donevan. The team finished the regular regular season with a record of five wins against two defeats, good for third place in their division. division. The i continued success of World Records is defying the current economic climate. Mr. Stone pointed out that although the latest statistics from the Canadian recording industry show a decline of 46 percent as of September, World Records is having a successful year. In addition to adding 6,000 square feet of shipping and warehouse space, the company is undertaking a concentrated marketing effort in the United f^atesv Bob Stone explains that the local headquarters serves as an administrative centre and as a warehouse. The operation on Baseline Rd. also handles the design and layout of jacket covers and related materials such as. posters, books, inserts, and catalogues. World Records has in-house designers, artists, typesetting, and graphic film facilities. Other companies are responsible for pressing records and printing jacket covers under the direction of World Records. The company also keeps a close watch on the finished discs and tapes through quality control. Although there are many stages in record manufacturing, manufacturing, the company offers a total one-stop package. An independent independent musician, group, or recording label needs only to supply a rough outline of the plans for an album jacket plus a master tape and in two to three weeks the completed, professionally-packaged records or tapes are shipped to the client. World Records is also responsible for putting together most of the top quality digital recordings made in Canada today. Not only does the unique service of World Records save months of dealing with six or eight different suppliers, but it also gives the artist total freedom to produce his or her record. Started in 1969 as a producer and distributor of records, the company handled a wide range of Canadiana products from Rob McConnell's Boss Brass to Charlie Farquharson lo the Toronto Symphony, In 1975, after watching' the Roger Whittaker in Concert Thurs., Dec. 2 Arizona Sunshine Vacation 21 Days Simcoe Christmas Light Display For further details call Tom Clark Tours 623-6660 or call collect decline of interest by major record companies to manufacture manufacture and market specialty or regional market records, World Records conceived and developed the "Custom Record" approach which allowed independent musicians and record labels the ability to produce high- quality homemade recordings.
